As part of our 13th year anniversary celebration, Librairie Crossover Comics is excited to announce that award-winning author Mark Russell will be in Montreal on Thursday October 16th for a comic book signing event!
Russell is the master of dark comedy when it comes to comics. He places unique, often near-future settings at the heart of his work, infusing them with sharp, powerful satire to create both humorous and chilling reflections of modern society. His award-winning book Not All Robots is one such creation, and the more recent Travelling to Mars is a Crossover best-seller! He is the acclaimed author of many other titles, ranging from the savagely poignant Billionaire Island to the more tempered commentary of Exit Stage Left: The Snagglepuss Chronicles in which the Hanna-Barbera character is re-imagined as a gay playwright during the 1950’s red scare. He’s also had his turn with some of the more well-known faces in comics with the likes of Batman: Dark Age, Superman: Space Age, Fantastic Four: Life Story and much more. His work has earned him several Eisner and Harvey award nominations and we are thrilled to have him appear at Crossover Comics!
The event will take place on October 16th from 4 to 7 PM at Librairie Crossover Comics, located at 3560 Rue Notre-Dame Ouest in Saint-Henri. Fans will have the opportunity to meet the author, get their comics and books signed, and have a chat with him about his work. The first issue of Russell’s new speculative-fiction anthology comic Terrorbytes drops just a day before the signing, on October 15th. Grab a copy and get it autographed by the man himself!
